Mohsen Abtahi
Mohsen Abtahi was born and raised in Shiraz, Iran in a music appreciating family. From a very young age, Mohsen picked up on music and fell in love with the beauty of traditional Persian music. He started playing the Santoor and Tombak from childhood and continued practicing and learning throughout his youth. Mohsen seeked lessons through many professional advacned instrustors such as, Sirous Saghari, Faramarz Payvar, and many more. Mohsen graduated from Tehran University of Accounting and Auditing as a Certified Accountant, but also continued and pursued his passion for Persian music. After moving to the United States, Mohsen conducted many performances the Iranian Association of Boston, and after a few months, he was invited by Professor Richard Wolf of Harvard University to come and instruct Persian music lessons at Harvard University. Proffesor Richard Wold and Mohsen continued instrucing Persian music lessons at Harvard University for 12 years. In 2005 Mohsen Abtahi was invited by Worcester Polytechnic Institute to conduct a lecture on the history of traditional Persian music, describe the instruments, and demonsrate by performing. Mohsen Abtahi's two Sons, Mani and Manoosh, have also the passion for music and play persian instrumens as well as the Piano and the Violin. Mohsen and his sons, have had many performances together at the Iranian Association of Boston and at Harvard University. They have now relocated to California where they continue their pasion in Music.
